Started Wilson Way in 2017 out of a St. Matthews garage with a single truck and a few subs. Today runs the entire operation. On every job site by 6:45am. Louisville native, Manual High School grad, BS from UK.
15 people. 4+ years average tenure.
We're not a national chain. We're a 15-person Louisville team where the founder answers his own phone, the lead carpenter has been with us for 6 years, and the apprentice you met today will be running crews in 3.
You'll meet most of us in the first week.
Zach walks every job site weekly. Your PM runs Friday updates. Your lead carpenter is on-site daily. The apprentice is the one cleaning up at the end of the day.
Started as an apprentice in 2019, promoted to lead carpenter in 2022. Runs the day-to-day on the job site: framing, finish, problem-solving, training apprentices. Hector is the reason our finish work looks the way it does.
Started at Wilson Way as a carpenter in 2022, transitioned to PM in 2024. Owns 3-5 active projects at a time. The person you'll talk to most during your remodel. Writes the Friday update emails that homeowners screenshot and send to friends.
Handles design-build clients — the projects where drawings need to be developed alongside the build. Sarah came from an architecture firm where she did too much drawing and not enough building. Now she gets to do both.
Lead carpenter running a 3-person crew on the larger projects (whole-home remodels, additions). Came from a commercial background and brought the discipline with him. Daily jobsite is the cleanest in the company.
Ten in-house carpenters and apprentices, plus a vetted bench of plumbers, electricians, HVAC techs, and tile setters we've worked with for 5+ years. We don't bid your job to subs we've never met.
We hire slow. We train hard. We pay well. They stay.
We don't run help-wanted ads and grab whoever shows up. Our apprenticeships are paid positions that start with a 90-day trial. Most new hires come from local building-trades programs (Jefferson Community College, Manual-Trades, Building Pathways).
Once hired, carpenters get a $1,500 tool stipend, OSHA-10 certification on us, and a dedicated lead-carpenter mentor. Our health insurance, retirement match, and 4-day weeks are real reasons people stay. Average tenure: 4+ years.

The subs we've used for 5+ years.
We don't bid your job to subs we don't know. Every plumber, electrician, HVAC tech, tile setter, and concrete finisher on a Wilson Way project has been vetted, used on at least 5 of our projects, and signed off on our quality + timeline standards.
Since 2018
One plumber. One phone number. He's on every Wilson Way job that involves a water line.
5+ year tenure each
We rotate between three electricians depending on project size. All three are licensed in KY + IN.
5+ year tenure each
Residential ductwork, mini-splits, and high-efficiency furnace installs. Both NATE-certified.
