Why Wilson Way

You'll do the kind of work you can show your family.

We focus on residential remodels and additions — kitchens, baths, whole-home, additions, custom builds, barndos. You'll work on homes in St. Matthews, Prospect, the Highlands, Jeffersontown. You won't get sent to a job site 90 minutes away. You'll go home at 4pm.

Our crew has been with us for an average of 4+ years. Our lead carpenter started as an apprentice in 2019. Our PM started as a carpenter in 2020. We promote from within because it's the only way we know how to grow.

Health insurance

Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO. Wilson Way covers 80% of premium for employee, 50% for dependents.

Workers' comp

Always covered. Every employee, every job site. We pay the full premium.

Retirement + match

SIMPLE IRA. Wilson Way matches up to 3% of salary after 90 days.

Paid time off

2 weeks PTO first year, 3 weeks after. Holidays off (8/year). We close the office Christmas-New Year.

Tool stipend

New hire: $1,500 toward tools. Annual $500 stipend after that. Wilson Way logo on your work shirts provided.

Real hours

7am-4pm Mon-Fri. Saturdays rare and paid OT. We will not work you into the ground.

Project Manager

Full-time • $75K-$95K + benefits

Own 3-5 active residential remodels at a time. You'll be the homeowner's main point of contact, run weekly Friday updates, manage subs + material orders, and protect the schedule. We'll train you on our process; you bring 5+ years of residential PM experience.

What we need
  • 5+ years residential construction PM experience
  • Strong written communication (Friday updates)
  • Comfortable with fixed-price contracts and draw schedules
  • Owns a reliable truck and basic tools
  • KY driver's license, clean MVR

Lead Carpenter

Full-time • $28-38/hr + benefits

Run a 2-3 person crew on-site. Frame, finish, troubleshoot, train apprentices. We'll give you a clear scope + drawings + the materials; you bring 7+ years of residential carpentry experience and pride in the work.

  • 7+ years residential carpentry (frame to finish)
  • Lead a 2-3 person crew on residential job sites
  • Read drawings, work from a scope, flag changes early
  • Show up on time, leave the site clean

Carpenter Apprentice

Full-time • $18-24/hr + benefits

Year 1 of a 3-year track to Lead Carpenter. Paid training, OSHA-10 cert, tool stipend, dedicated mentor. We hire from the Louisville building trades programs and promote from within.

  • Some construction exposure (school, summer work, Habitat)
  • Reliable transportation
  • Want to build a 10+ year career in residential construction
  • Comfortable with physical work in all weather

Honesty

What you won't get here.

  • Big bonuses. We pay hourly and salary fairly. No commission, no "finders fee" pressure on PMs.
  • Working for a regional firm. We're 15 people. You'll know the owner's cell phone number. There's no HR department.
  • Travel. We work within 30 minutes of Louisville. You'll sleep in your own bed.
  • Glamour projects. We build residential remodels. Some are fancy, some are basic. All need to be done right.
  • Drama. No yelling on job sites, no high-pressure sales culture, no chasing commissions.
